ABOUT ME

​

Islahuddin Ashraf is an award winning independent visual communication professional based in India.  As Director of Photography, he has worked on a diverse range of film and television programmes for national and international television channels and renowned production houses, such as HBO, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel (USA), BBC, Channel 4, PBS, Axn TV, Channel News Asia, UNICEF, UNDP, UNESCO, among others.

Beside filming commercials and corporate films he has also worked on projects on arts, artisans, aesthetics and wildlife. He has also produced , co- directed and shot films on Environment.

He has been conferred with Best Cinematography Award for the wildlife film “Tiger – A Death Chronicle” at the Yaan International Animal and Nature Film Festival, China.

He is also a professional still photographer and has worked with national and international clients like Emerging Market Magazine (U.K ) , Cox n Kings ( India ) among others. His photograph has also been published in online literary magazine (http://www.elsewherelit.org/photos-indian-fiction/ ).

 

 He has won the 2nd Prize in the photography contest by UNESCO-2017, “What makes Ahmedabad a World Heritage City “.

Currently, he is passionately engaged with documenting Shahjehanabad, the Walled City of Delhi for his photography exhibition.
